As a Planner/Buyer, you will plan material requirements and execute purchase orders for complex assemblies, balancing inventory levels with customer delivery commitments.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with Maintenance, and Operations teams to understand aircraft maintenance requirements
- Review work orders, maintenance schedules, and material requests
- Identify parts requirements, shortages, and replenishment needs
- Analyze inventory levels and forecast material demand
- Translate maintenance requirements into actionable procurement and planning activities
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for aircraft parts, materials, and services
- Coordinate with approved vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery
- Monitor order status and expedite critical or delayed shipments
- Ensure procurement activities align with budgetary and operational requirements
- Maintain accurate purchasing records within ERP/MRO systems
- Support inventory optimization initiatives
- Track vendor lead times and adjust planning strategies accordingly
- Ensure proper stock rotation and material availability for scheduled maintenance
- Communicate regularly with internal departments including Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Logistics
- Maintain strong relationships with external suppliers and distributors
- Evaluate supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and reliability
- Support sourcing of alternative suppliers when necessary
- Respond to Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) and other urgent material requirements
- Identify and secure expedited sourcing solutions to minimize aircraft downtime
- Coordinate emergency logistics and alternative procurement options
- Communicate status updates to relevant stakeholders in real time
- Ensure all procurement and planning activities comply with FAA regulations and company quality standards
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation in ERP/MRO systems
- Support internal and external audits as required
- Follow established procedures for controlled and traceable materials
- On-time availability of required parts and materials
- Reduction in aircraft downtime due to material delays
- Inventory accuracy and optimization
- Cost control and purchasing efficiency
- Supplier performance and reliability
- Compliance with regulatory and internal standards
Position Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain roles
- Experience working with ERP or MRO systems
- Strong understanding of inventory management and procurement processes
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to respond effectively under pressure, including urgent AOG situations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP system
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Must be available to work Tuesday - Saturday
- Pay will range from $25.61 -$38.42 and will depend on experience
Preferred Characteristics:
- Aviation of MRO experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation maintenance environments (preferred)
