Q Microwave, a leader in the precision RF manufacturing, design and manufacture of cutting-edge military and defense microwave solutions, is seeking a Planner to join our entrepreneurial, collaborative, and fast-paced team located in El Cajon, CA. The Planner I will be responsible for coordinating production schedules to ensure that customer demands are met in a timely manner. This role involves facilitating production start dates for new orders and tracking production progress for existing orders. The ideal candidate will have excellent organization, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Based upon material availability, help to develop schedules establishing sequence and timeframe of manufacturing operations in order to address production requirements, customer orders, plant capacity, and inventory management criteria.
- Assists Purchasing in ordering appropriate quantities of material based upon on-hand quantities, material ordered, expected usage and yield.
- Works with Engineering to expedite drawings and updates required to procure material per internal requirements, contractual requirements, and vendor capabilities.
- Must be able to interpret complex status reports, perform material analyses, and develop material requirements in quantity and date needed.
What We're Looking For:
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or a related field. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education
- Proven experience in production scheduling, project coordination, or manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, macros, data visualization).
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, or a related field and 2-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
- Analytical skills for resolving scheduling conflicts and optimizing workflows.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs. of test equipment with assistance.
- Fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with supervisors.
- Comfortable working on your feet in a production environment.
