What You'll Do
- Review development applications, site plans, and permits to ensure compliance with planning and landscaping requirements.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify projects are progressing according to approved plans and regulations.
- Meet with applicants, property owners, and the public to answer questions and guide them through planning processes and requirements.
- Prepare staff reports, meeting packets, legal notices, and presentation materials for Planning & Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and Board of Aldermen meetings.
- Support special projects, code updates, and planning initiatives through research, mapping, data collection, and technical documentation.
What are the Minimum Qualifications?
- A High School diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent.
- Graduation from an institution of higher learning that is regionally accredited through the U.S. Department of Education with a bachelor's degree
in Community and Regional Planning, Architecture/Landscape, Urban Planning or closely related field.- Five (5) years of experience in this area or related field may be substituted as determined by the Department Director.
- Experience in planning or urban design.
- Be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a background check and drug screenings.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The starting hourly wage is $22.13 per hour and will increase to $23.02per hour after 6 months of successful probation.

WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
WORK LOCATION: City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall. This is an in-office position requiring work to be performed onsite.
