Overview of the role

Lead production planning and scheduling to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery of customer commitments while optimising capacity, inventory, and material flow across CCM operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end production planning process aligned to the S&OP / demand plan
  • Develop and maintain a robust finite production schedule across all manufacturing cells
  • Ensure alignment between demand, capacity, labour, and material availability
  • Drive on-time delivery (OTD) performance against customer and contractual requirements
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Procurement, and Engineering to resolve constraints
  • Establish clear planning parameters, planning policies, and system governance (ERP/MRP)
  • Manage and develop the planning team on a daily basis
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, schedule adherence, and throughput
  • Own short- to medium-term capacity planning and scenario modelling
  • Provide clear, data-driven reporting on plan performance, risks, and recovery actions
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and change management planning activities
  • Lead recovery planning during disruption or deviation from plan
  • Define and embed standard planning cadence (daily/weekly reviews, SIOP discipline)
  • Develop and maintain clear planning KPIs and visual management (OTD, adherence, backlog, plan stability)
  • Support digital and system improvement initiatives within planning (ERP upgrades, reporting tools)

Essential Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience

  • Proven experience in production planning within a complex manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and production scheduling disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to balance demand, capacity, and inventory in a regulated environment
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing planning or supply chain teams
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions
  • Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management (Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality)
  • Experience driving performance improvements in OTIF, inventory, and schedule adherence Experience implementing or improving S&OP / IBP processes

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and/or Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience within defence, aerospace, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • APICS / CIPS or equivalent supply chain certification
  • Knowledge of capacity modelling and advanced planning tools
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience applied to planning processes

This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45 and Friday 08:00 - 12:30.
