Role

Under general direction, provides professional level review and analysis and project management of considerable difficulty in directing the planning activities under the Yavapai Plan Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP).

Major Duties, Responsibilities

  • Supervises, manages, coordinates, trains, and evaluates the daily activities of assigned staff, which may include conducting of staff meetings, evaluating staff's performance on a periodic basis, setting standards and reviewing work.
  • Provides technical information and submits written reports, presents policy issues, plans and applications to citizens groups, advisory boards, and government bodies.
  • Serves as a member of the Yavapai Plan leadership team and participates in strategic planning for the organization.
  • Prepares and participates in on-going group and committee meetings.
  • Researches and collects data for studies through the use of surveys, interviews and other sources.
  • Conducts special studies and assignments as required on various planning activities and projects.
  • Prepares materials, reports and recommendations for the Executive Director, Technical Advisory Committee, Executive Board, and others.
  • Leads the organization of Technical Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in transportation, urban or regional planning, or related field.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, to include two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-per-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.

Work Environment:

The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
