    Overview

    This role will provide all aspects of Trade Planning support to the Electrical, Pipefitting, Machinery or Shipfitting Trades. Successful candidates will be expected to:

    • Provide technical assistance to Front Line supervisors and mechanics
    • Provide necessary documentation to manufacturing to accomplish work
    • Research material disposition
    • Determine material availability
    • Order material as needed

    The position may also include job package development. Training in the various planning functions will be provided. The job will consist of varying levels of office, shop floor, and onboard work.

    Responsibilities

    High School Diploma / GED required

    Qualifications

    • Two years' experience in a planning, manufacturing and/or design field
    • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend ships drawings and other technical documents preferred
    • Competent usage of common PC-based systems (Microsoft Office, etc.) preferred
    • Knowledge of BIW work management systems (MACPAC, ESS, JIRA, FLOC, etc.) preferred
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Satisfactory work history (discipline/attendance)
    • Must meet all requirements of the physical task analysis for a Deck Plate Planner in a manufacturing environment
