About the Role
The City of Bend is accepting applications for one (1) regular, full-time Plans Examiner I in the Building Safety Division of the Community Development Department. This is an hourly, non-exempt (overtime eligible) position represented by the City of Bend Employee Association (COBEA). Join the City of Bend's Building Safety Division and play a key role in protecting public safety while helping shape a growing, vibrant community. As a Plans Examiner I, you'll contribute every day to creating safe, high-quality housing by performing residential plan reviews that directly impact how Bend develops. Bend is one of the top housing producers in the state, offering exposure to a diverse range of projects and increasing levels of complexity. In this role, you'll review additions, remodels, new construction, townhomes, one- and two-family dwellings, custom homes, historic properties, attached and detached ADUs, and middle housing land divisions-giving you valuable experience across the full spectrum of residential development.

Group Long-term Disability Insurance: Benefit-eligible employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible for a a benefit of up to 66.67% of employee's covered earnings to a maximum of $9,000 per month.
Voluntary Life and AD&D: Active, full time employees of the City of Bend regularly working a minimum of 20 hours per week are eligible for additional voluntary coverage for the employee, spouse/domestic partner and dependent children.
