Plant Accounting Operations Manager

Location: Calhoun, GA

Department: Accounting

Reports to: CFO

A day in the role

It’s Monday morning in Calhoun, and you begin by scanning the weekend production runs and cash position. Before lunch, you’re reviewing AR aging, approving AP batches, and validating that controls around purchasing and receipts are tight. In the afternoon, you’re side‑by‑side with the CFO, modeling scenarios to optimize resources and profitability. You close the day walking through the plant to understand cost drivers first‑hand, reinforcing the procedures that keep our financials GAAP‑compliant and our team aligned.

What you’ll lead

  • Own end‑to‑end AR and AP operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and policy adherence.
  • Design, maintain, and improve internal financial controls and standard procedures.
  • Advise senior leadership on margin, cost, and fiscal discipline to drive profitability.
  • Partner with the CFO on data‑driven decisions that maximize resources and effectiveness.
  • Forecast, monitor, and manage cash flow to support operational needs.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Take on related priorities as needed—your scope grows with the business.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Manufacturing finance leadership experience with proven results.
  • Background in a privately held company preferred.
  • Sharp analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership: coaching, building teams, resolving conflict, and setting goals.
  • Proficiency in: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Bookkeeping, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR).

Where you’ll work

Most work happens in a comfortable, temperature‑controlled office. You’ll also spend time in the plant, where temperatures and humidity can vary. You’ll use required PPE and collaborate with teams working around equipment and production lines. You can expect normal manufacturing byproducts—noise, dust, vapor, and fumes—mitigated through design engineering and supported by safety equipment that keeps everyone within OSHA standards. The characteristics described here reflect what you’ll encounter while performing the role’s essential functions.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
