Where you’ll work: Albion, Indiana (Dexter Manufacturing Facility)
Working hours: Third Shift, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM

Our mission: Dexter equips commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets with axles, suspensions, brakes, doors, venting, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components. To deliver flawlessly, our plant automation must perform at its peak—especially overnight.

The Challenge

Uptime is everything. As a Plant Automation Electrician, you will be the overnight guardian of our controls and power systems. When a CNC spindle faults, a robot fails to home, or a sensor chain misbehaves, you’ll move from symptom to source to solution—then lock in improvements so the issue doesn’t return.

How You’ll Lead Impact

  • Apply electrical codes, standards, and best practices to diagnose and repair issues safely
  • Perform deep-dive troubleshooting on CNC machinery and robotic cells
  • Drive root-cause analysis and implement robust, long-term corrective actions
  • Modify and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic with appropriate diagnostic software
  • Maintain solid-state components and integrated control architectures
  • Execute independent repairs and coach peers when needed
  • Run preventive and corrective maintenance to sustain reliable throughput
  • Respond quickly to production requests to cut downtime
  • Assume leadership for the shift in the absence of supervision

What You Know

  • Industrial electrical systems, automation, CNC equipment, and robotics
  • Advanced troubleshooting of electrical and control systems
  • Electrical theory and calculations relevant to manufacturing
  • PLCs and ladder logic—both programming and diagnostics
  • How to thrive independently in a fast-moving environment

How You Work

  • Proactive problem solver with a solutions-first mindset
  • Flexible for overtime to meet production schedules
  • Dependable, with consistent attendance
  • Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement culture
  • Collaborative and supportive of a strong team environment

Credentials

  • Associate’s degree (two-year college/technical school) or equivalent; or 5+ years of related experience/training; or an equivalent mix of education and experience

Core Strengths

  • Electrical troubleshooting expertise
  • Hands-on industrial electrical experience

Systems You’ll Support
