Plant Controller

Job Purpose

As a Plant Controller, you will oversee financial reporting, tax packages, internal controls, and cost accounting. You will prepare financial reports, forecasts, and statements, and communicate with departmental managers to complete various reports. Your role involves strategy development, promoting continuous improvement, and aligning financial strategies with corporate goals. You will maintain risk management controls, provide business analysis, and prepare the annual business plan. Month-end duties, account reconciliations, and involvement in audits are also key responsibilities. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for all financial reporting, tax packages, internal controls, and cost accounting.
• Prepare all financial reports, trial balance forecasts, profit and expense statements, and other reports supporting cost control.
• Communicate with all departmental managers in order to complete daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end reports for operations and division management.
• Assist in strategy development in the operations to ensure financial integrity.
• Push continuous improvement and best practices deployment throughout the operations.
• Organize financial vision and strategies that are in alignment with the overall strategic direction of the corporation and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain adequate risk management-based internal controls.
• Provide business analysis on trends, issues, and developments that could impact the operation.
• Prepare annual business plan.
• Month-end duties involving journal entries, HFM inputting, and ad-hoc reporting.
• Prepare quarterly and year-end reports.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Work directly with Dana's corporate accounting group to provide financial and other information as requested.
• Involved with internal and external audits, transfer price studies, and fixed asset maintenance.

Education and Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in senior-level accounting or finance role.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner and the ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word; Hyperion experience preferred
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent knowledge of accounting systems and control elements.
• Strong financial and business background with strong analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of business law.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong analytic skills and proven aptitude for numbers.
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• A professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA).
• MBA preferred.
