Constellation Search Group is looking for a Plant Controller for a full-time direct hire position. The Plant Controller will manage all accounting operations ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business objectives. This role involves leading a team of accounting professionals while collaborating with various departments such as plant operations, procurement, and executive leadership. The objective is to provide insights into financial performance and support cost management strategies. 


Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory accounting, and fixed assets management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings and reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Oversee cost accounting and financial analysis related to ethanol production and commodity inputs/outputs.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements specific to biofuels/ethanol production.
  • Provide financial support for M&A activity, capital projects, and strategic initiatives through financial modeling and analysis.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor accounting team members.
  • Assist the Corporate Controller with various strategic initiatives.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the manufacturing or processing industry; ethanol or renewable fuels experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Keen attention to detail and flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams to deliver quality results within tight deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Competence in group meeting facilitation and participation.
  • Advanced knowledge in applications software (Excel and accounting software).
  • Team player mentality.
