Plant Controls Electrician (CNC & Injection Molding)

Keep two manufacturing plants running at peak performance. In this role, you’ll own the electrical health of CNC machinery, injection molding equipment, and power/control cabinets—executing precision troubleshooting, clean wiring, and both preventive and predictive maintenance to sustain reliable, high-quality production.

A day in the life

Your morning starts by reviewing maintenance requests and prioritizing with your supervisor. You’ll dive into electrical diagnostics—reading schematics, checking alarm codes, and metering voltage, resistance, and amperage to pinpoint root causes. Midday may find you rebuilding or wiring sub-cabinets, tuning PLC I/O, or restoring a VFD-driven axis on a CNC. Afternoons often focus on planned maintenance: cleaning cabinets, verifying terminations, inspecting sensors, and aligning machines to prevent the next unplanned stop. Throughout the day, you document every action, collaborate with teammates and external experts as needed, and make smart, data-backed decisions to keep equipment uptime high.

What you’ll impact

• Uptime and continuity: Triage and resolve complex issues quickly to reduce downtime and keep production moving.
• Clear coordination: Communicate priorities with supervisors; collaborate closely with operators, peers, and outside specialists.
• Data-driven decisions: Maintain thorough service records that reveal trends and guide proactive work.
• Planned reliability: Execute preventive and predictive maintenance that extends equipment life and lowers total cost.
• Team efficiency: Balance persistence with timely escalation to ensure safe, effective, and efficient repairs.

What you bring

• Experience: 5+ years in maintenance electrical work, with a track record of troubleshooting machines using operator input, technical manuals, electrical schematics, and alarm codes.
• Technical breadth: Competence across mechanical, electrical, electronics, PLC logic, hydraulics, and pneumatics; strong in CNC repair and maintenance.
• Measurement and diagnostics: Ability to read voltage, resistance, and amperage with a meter; interpret mechanical and electrical prints.
• Fabrication and alignment: Proficient in sheet metal fabrication and welding; knowledgeable in machine alignment.
• Precision tools: Skilled with calipers, indicators, micrometers, and plug gauges.
• Safety and operations: Knowledge of industrial plant safety protocols; able to operate an industrial lift truck; comfortable with both metric and imperial systems.
• Plus: Background in machining processes and tooling.
