The Opportunity
As a Plant Controls Electrician, you’ll be the go-to problem solver for production and facility electrical systems. You’ll support new equipment launches, keep existing assets running at peak performance, and strengthen reliability across the site.
What a typical day might look like
- Start with preventive maintenance on critical machines, reviewing logs and checking key sensors.
- Jump into a production call to diagnose a control fault—tracing schematics, inspecting wiring, and troubleshooting a PLC issue.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to support an equipment startup, verify electrical installations, and perform functional testing.
- Tackle a 480V 3-phase power distribution task, ensure safe lockout/tagout, and validate operation of drives and motor controls.
- Close the day by completing upgrades that improve uptime and documenting improvements for the team.
Key responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems on production machinery and facility infrastructure
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and prints
- Diagnose PLCs, motor controls, variable frequency drives, sensors, and related components
- Execute preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
- Support equipment startups, testing, and electrical installations
- Work safely with 480V 3-phase systems and lower-voltage control circuits
What makes you a strong fit
- 3+ years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing setting
- Hands-on PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Proficiency with 480V 3-phase power
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Proven troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving abilities
- Background in maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial equipment environments is preferred
