Plant Cost & Inventory Accounting Analyst

We’re looking for a detail-driven accounting professional to own plant-level costing and inventory integrity. If you thrive at the intersection of operations and finance, this role puts you in control of the numbers that power production decisions.

What you’ll own

Inventory stewardship

• Run physical inventory and cycle-count programs; complete valuation and obsolescence reviews.
• Conduct weekly audits of finished goods and subassembly inventories.
• Manage return-to-vendor (RTV) materials and the associated inventory adjustments.
• Complete and maintain responsibility for all inventory adjustments.
• Oversee customer-supplied inventory and track usage by receipt and order.
• Prepare the daily shipping and receiving manifest.
• Audit inbound raw-material shipments and match to supporting purchase orders.
• Organize and file job bags and sheeting paperwork for traceability.
• Review laminating job bags to verify proper material allocation.

Production costing & WIP control

• Maintain standard costs and perform ongoing cost and inventory accounting activities.
• Ensure material costs are issued accurately and flow correctly through production and WIP.
• Review and close all manufacturing jobs upon completion.
• Maintain the WIP balance for the trial balance and reconcile inventory stock status to the trial balance at month-end.

Financial close & reporting

• Execute monthly closings and support the close timeline and balance-sheet analysis.
• Calculate monthly COGS to align expenses with revenue.
• Prepare and submit the month-end gross-profit report.
• Perform consolidation and intercompany reconciliations.
• Tackle miscellaneous accounting projects as assigned.

Performance & continuous improvement

• Lead weekly production waste meetings and implement waste-reduction strategies.
• Calculate and oversee production KPIs used for the incentive plan.

Compliance & audit readiness

• Support quarterly and annual audits conducted by bank and financial auditors.
