Plant Director Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Work Location: Operations Leadership Role (Relocation Assistance Available) Purpose Lead a major manufacturing operation to achieve safe, reliable, cost-effective, and compliant performance while delivering production, quality, and financial objectives. Serve as a key member of the operations leadership team, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and long-term business performance. Success Profile Strong leader with a proven ability to improve safety, productivity, reliability, cost performance, and team engagement within complex industrial environments. Key Responsibilities - Lead all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and process functions.
- Drive world-class safety performance, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver production, quality, cost, and budget objectives.
- Manage operating budgets, capital projects, and cost improvement initiatives.
- Develop and lead high-performing teams through coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Partner with executive leadership to align plant performance with company objectives.
- Embed UNA Culture values, reinforcing leadership behaviors, collaboration, and performance discipline.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 10–15 years of progressive industrial leadership experience.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, processing, or heavy industry environments.
- Strong experience in cement, mining, aggregates, lime, steel, construction materials, or similar industries.
- Demonstrated success leading large operational teams and managing plant performance.
- Knowledge of budgeting, maintenance systems, operational excellence methodologies, and SAP preferred.
- Familiarity with MSHA and/or industrial regulatory environments preferred.
