Role snapshot

  • Own site-wide environmental, health, and safety programs that align with OSHA/EPA requirements.
  • Deploy injury/illness reduction strategies: area assessments, incident/root-cause analysis, and measurable targets.
  • Correct unsafe conditions leveraging industrial process knowledge, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and established safety standards.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve Environmental and Safety Management systems to ISO 14001/ISO 18001; brief top management on performance.
  • Serve as primary contact for local, state, and federal regulators, corporate HSE, and insurance representatives.
  • Lead OSHA and environmental reporting and record retention.
  • Develop and manage HSE budgets (consulting/testing, waste removal, PPE, recognition).
  • Investigate environmental and safety non-compliances and incidents; provide rapid operational support.
  • Facilitate team-based problem solving to eliminate hazards and reduce risk.
  • Plan and conduct audits; track corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Implement process changes that minimize environmental waste streams.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation claims and case management.
  • Deliver engaging HSE training and awareness programs across the plant.
  • Handle special projects and related duties as assigned.
