Subsidiary: Steel Dynamics Overview:

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant power distribution systems and provide technical support to the various departments.   Interface with the utility company, vendors, contractors, and consultants to oversee installations and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to drive safety in all aspects of the plant
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures
  • High voltage power distribution up to 345kV, protective relaying, transformer and switchgear maintenance
  • Maintain general plant power equipment
  • Assist with planning and organizing maintenance shutdowns
  • Assist department in safety improvements and initiatives
Qualifications:

Required 

  • Strong focus on safety; high level of safety awareness (LOTOTO, TCOS, etc.) and proven safety record; NFPA 70E knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Motivated Self-Starter, ability to prioritize multiple projects

Preferred

  • SVC power factor compensation experience
  • HV/MV power, Drives/Controls, Networking, HMI & PLC proficiency
  • Electrical preventative/predictive maintenance experience
