How You Will Make an Impact

The role of Maintenance Electrician supports the industrial manufacturing operations at Reading Truck by performing maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic equipment.

The Nuts and Bolts

Inspect, maintain, repair and overhaul electromechanical, electrical control, lighting, wiring, communications, and solid-state electrical equipment, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipmentInstall new electrical and electronic equipment according to the National Electrical Code and company electrical standardsTroubleshoot electrical and electronic systems and equipmentPrepare, install and assemble conduits and wiring through themPerform medium voltage switching (600 volts) and operate generators in support of operationsRead technician diagrams and prints. Accurately maintain, document and revise diagrams and prints with any changes

Required Credentials

Previous experience working as an electrician in an industrial environment - requiredCompletion of a recognized Electrical Apprenticeship Program OR three out of the last five years' journey-level experience as an electrician in the industrial maintenance fieldExperience with operation and use of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) units and other computer based equipment (including programming and troubleshooting)General knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations in industryMust have valid driver's licenseAbility to climb, stand, bend, lift heavy objects in awkward and confined spacesAbility to work in an industrial setting with exposure to fumes, dust, vibration, noise, heavy machinery, high voltage with the use of appropriate protective / safety equipment. Non temperature controlled environment
