Our client, a well-established privately held petrochemical company, is seeking a Senior Plant Engineer to support its Alabama-based refinery operations. The role focuses on project engineering and management, equipment reliability, and leadership in both daily operations and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering projects from scope development through execution, including cost estimating, scheduling, and construction oversight.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and system reliability issues.
- Support unit shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct root cause analyses and recommend solutions.
- Serve as a technical expert across multiple areas and mentor junior staff.
- Supervise contractors and lead cross-functional teams as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- 7+ years of engineering experience in refining, chemical, or similar industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of industry codes, equipment reliability, and project management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- P.E. license and PMP certification highly preferred
- Experience with MS Project, Primavera P6, Caesar, Aspen, or similar software
