Description
Introduction
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Plant Engineer Controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
5 years of related Controls experience
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) such as Siemens, Rexroth, Allan Bradley
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with Client Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Prior work experience in the industry
Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
Familiarity with UL508A requirements and NFPA79
Experience with Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal programming and troubleshooting
Machining and automation equipment controls troubleshooting experience
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Develop and implement improvements to control systems and equipment
Lead problem solving and troubleshooting activities
Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
Integrate controls into IT systems like Factory Information Systems (FIS), Error Proofing, QWX, IIoT, and QTS
Review and coordinate project installations and reprogram equipment for engineering changes
Maintain program backups for machinery and automation
Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
Participate in risk assessments evaluating equipment safety
