Introduction

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Plant Engineer Controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of related Controls experience
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) such as Siemens, Rexroth, Allan Bradley
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Client Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Prior work experience in the industry
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
  • Familiarity with UL508A requirements and NFPA79
  • Experience with Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal programming and troubleshooting
  • Machining and automation equipment controls troubleshooting experience

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement improvements to control systems and equipment
  • Lead problem solving and troubleshooting activities
  • Assist in the training of manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
  • Integrate controls into IT systems like Factory Information Systems (FIS), Error Proofing, QWX, IIoT, and QTS
  • Review and coordinate project installations and reprogram equipment for engineering changes
  • Maintain program backups for machinery and automation
  • Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
  • Participate in risk assessments evaluating equipment safety
