Plant Engineer

About the Role

This position oversees the electrical and mechanical systems of a manufacturing plant, ensuring smooth installation, troubleshooting, and operation. The role exists to improve plant efficiency, upgrade technologies, and increase production. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in optimizing processes and supporting continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maximize productivity of machinery and associates
• Ensure all steps of production run smoothly and efficiently
• Develop strategies to improve safety, efficiency, and profit
• Direct integration of technical activities and products by collaborating with various departments
• Assist in installation and maintenance of all machines and tools within the facility
• Analyze equipment requirements and assist in requisition of tools and equipment
• Validate all systems and prepare required documents for installation processes
• Provide an efficient interface with automation and validation processes by training support staff
• Collaborate with support staff to evaluate upcoming projects and obtain required responses for equipment and layouts
• Coordinate activities for modifying extruders, machines, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products
• Evaluate and test machinery regularly and fix issues promptly
• Design and implement cost-reduction measures
• Work with the Project Engineer to develop projects; take primary leadership in installation and implementation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field
• 1 to 3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing
• Electromechanical experience
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Skilled in engineering data analysis
• Knowledge of Epicor Kinetic
• Hands-on working style with high involvement in equipment, process, and people
• Willing to be flexible with work hours to support continuous operations
