• Manage and support the mill’s Mechanical Integrity Program including tanks, pressure vessels, safety relief valves, and tile chests.
• Develop inspection, maintenance, and reliability strategies to ensure safe and effective operation of critical assets.
• Troubleshoot equipment and facility-related issues to minimize downtime and improve operational performance.
• Evaluate, specify, install, and commission equipment and systems throughout the mill.
• Provide engineering oversight and support for facility infrastructure, including building roofs and structural systems, HVAC systems, fire protection systems, and underground utilities.
• Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and capital projects to maintain facility reliability and compliance.
• Ensure all projects, equipment, and facilities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, building codes, and environmental requirements.
• Identify and address safety, health, and environmental risks associated with facility operations and engineering projects.
• Support risk mitigation initiatives and property loss prevention programs.
• Maintain accurate engineering and compliance documentation.
• Serve as a cross-functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
• Provide technical guidance during equipment repairs, troubleshooting efforts, and capital project execution.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain and develop technical expertise in equipment, facility systems, and applicable engineering standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, process, pulp and paper, or similar heavy industrial operations.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, facility infrastructure, and engineering principles.
• Strong troubleshooting, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
• Ability to support occasional weekend duty coverage.
