Otter Tail Power is seeking a Plant Engineer to join our Big Stone Plant team. We are open to hiring at Engineer I, Engineer II, or Engineer III levels, depending on candidate qualifications and experience. In this role, you'll help maintain and improve plant operations and efficiencies, supporting our mission to deliver reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible electricity.Key ResponsibilitiesManage plant improvement projects, including thermal performance engineeringAdvise other departments to reduce operating costs and increase plant availabilityQualifications by LevelUnderstanding of engineering standards and safety protocolsReliable work performance; seeks guidance and feedbackEffective communicator; learns to manage small tasks under supervisionMinimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experienceDemonstrated ability to independently manage engineering projects and tasksAbility to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholdersMinimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experienceIn-depth knowledge of materials, construction standards, protection schemes, and safety regulationsExperience communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholdersStrong communication skills delivering complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders; acts as a role model for junior engineersGeneral RequirementsKnowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and American Society of Civil Engineers standards is a plusAbility to work in variable conditions; role may be physical at timesValid driver's license requiredBenefits & CompensationThe expected base compensation offer for this role is $82,000 - $125,000 USD annually.
