DivisionNew Millennium Overview The Plant Engineer will lead automation upgrades at NMBS, Lake City. This position is instrumental for implementation of the NMBS automation strategy. Responsibilities Design, install and maintain automated equipment for joist manufacturing Work with NMBS, Lake City employees to design new equipment Create design, budget, financial justification, and schedule for capital projects Effectively work with the maintenance group on equipment reliability improvements Work with equipment suppliers on equipment design Create effective ELC procedures, technical manuals, drawings, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides Effectively collaborate with automation group and other NMBS plants Qualifications Required: Strong safety attitude Works well in a team environment High energy, self-starter, and well-organized individual, with excellent communication skills Extensive experience in equipment design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Preferred: Previous supervisory or team leader experience Experience with PLC's and HMI's development Experience with Allen-Bradley and Fanuc systems Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
