Plant Engineer/Specialist

Minnkota Power is seeking qualified candidates for a Plant Engineer Reliability or Plant Specialist Reliability, at the Milton R. Young Station located near Center, ND. The Milton R. Young Station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant, providing a stable energy source for our cooperative member-owners. The station is located 35 miles from Bismarck, North Dakota, a growing and progressive city with many recreational opportunities.

Typical job functions and expectations include but are not limited to the following:

· Provide root cause analysis.

· Oversee the change management program and initiatives.

· Optimize work practices in areas of expertise.

· Manage and reduce risks to the station.

· Provide reliability analyses, evaluations, and recommendations, particularly for projects.

· Evaluate design alternatives.

· Design and install new and replacement equipment.

· Work with consultants and contractors to accomplish engineering objectives.

· Troubleshoot systems with Operations and Maintenance to resolve problems.

· Ensure safety of work practices.

· Monitor and recommend new technology for improvements in efficiency, reliability, availability, and longevity of the plant and its equipment.

· Analyze plant data and provide recommendations.

Previous experience in an industrial setting with emphasis on reliability and rotating equipment is preferred but not necessary.
