Job Description

The Plant Engineer collaborates closely with the VP of Engineering and the Plant Manager to offer technical expertise for the development, design, and execution of capital, expenses, and maintenance projects in a safe, profitable, timely, and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, perform cost estimation and justification, and prepare the business case for capital and expense projects according to process design.
• Schedule and execute equipment and machinery inspections.
• Collaborate with plant production management staff on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain work procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
• Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Essential Skills

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (mechanical preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing.
• Expertise in Preventive maintenance.
• Experience in Building Product Manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Continuous improvement practices.
• Proficiency in mechanical engineering.
• OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with roofing manufacturing.
• If not already certified, obtain OSHA 10 & 30 certifications upon starting.

Work Environment

The shift is Monday to Friday starting at 7 am, with an 8-hour shift and occasional weekend work as needed. Employees must wear respirators and PPE, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, ear plugs, and eye protection. The company covers the cost for shoes and prescription glasses. Facial hair is not permitted as it interferes with the respirator seal. Employees must wear natural fibers. The facility is not temperature regulated, resulting in hot conditions during summer and cold conditions in winter. While engineers have offices, conditions on the plant floor are not regulated.

This is a Permanent position based out of Williamsport, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
