    Plant Engineering Lead

    Location: Niles, MI

    General Description:

    The Plant Engineering Lead is responsible for leading and supporting the Engineering team while maintaining a customer-focused, data-driven approach. This role requires strong organization, leadership abilities, and the ability to guide projects and personnel in a fast-paced environment.

     • Demonstrated leadership qualities in a high-volume automotive Engineering department

    Responsibilities:
     • Communicate and supervise all Engineering activity and personnel
     • Work with Engineering Technicians and Lead Manufacturing Engineers
     • Lead and assist on continual improvement projects
     • Organize daily Engineering priorities and responsibilities for Engineering Technicians and Lead Manufacturing Engineers
     • Support process efficiency development and cross training
     • Serve as the first point of contact for Engineering concerns from the manufacturing floor
     • Organize and manage all Engineering new launch activity
     • Manage labor utilization percentages
     • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors
     • Create detailed Engineering plans, processes, and procedures for Engineering staff

    Physical Requirements:
     • Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items
     • Responding to public address system announcements
     • Walking and standing
     • Lifting fifty (50) pounds or more
     • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment
