    Description

    Ocean Spray is hiring for a(n) Plant Engineering Supervisor! We're a team of farmers, thinkers, creators, and doers.     In this role, the Plant Engineering Supervisor provides direct supervision to engineering technicians and stockroom coordinators, ensuring effective daily support of plant maintenance and engineering activities. This position coordinates work priorities, supports execution of engineering and maintenance projects, and ensures timely availability of parts and materials to meet operational needs. The supervisor plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, supporting process improvements, and enabling continuous improvement initiatives within the facility. This role focuses on hands-on leadership, resource coordination, and execution of technical support services aligned with plant priorities.

    A Day in the Life...

    • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and day-to-day direction for engineering technicians and stockroom coordinators to ensure effective support of plant operations.
    • Coordinate work assignments, priorities, and resources across engineering support functions to meet maintenance and production needs.
    • Support execution of engineering and maintenance-related projects, including system improvements, equipment upgrades, and process optimization activities.
    • Ensure accurate inventory control and timely availability of spare parts and materials to support maintenance and engineering work.
    • Collaborate with maintenance, controls, and other plant functions to support equipment reliability, troubleshooting, and automation initiatives.
    • Assist in implementing continuous improvement activities related to equipment performance, plant flow, safety, and operational efficiency.
    • Support capital project execution by coordinating resources, tracking costs, and ensuring completion of assigned deliverables.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, food safety requirements (FDA/GMP/AIB/SQF), and company policies in all engineering support activities.
    • Participate in planning and scheduling activities to align engineering support work with production demands and plant priorities.
    • Support training and development of team members, including technical skill-building and cross-training within the team.
    • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment by addressing day-to-day operational and personnel issues within the team.
    • Escalate complex technical or operational issues to appropriate plant leadership as needed.

    What We Are Looking For:

    Required

    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
    • Knowledge of maintenance systems, engineering support functions, or industrial operations
    • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Understanding of safety and food safety standards (OSHA, GMP, SQF, etc.)
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills
    • Experience using CMMS or similar maintenance tracking systems

    Preferred

    • Experience supervising technical teams (e.g., engineering technicians, stockroom, or maintenance support roles)
    • Familiarity with inventory control and parts management systems
    • Exposure to automation, controls, or industrial engineering environments
    • Experience supporting capital projects or continuous improvement initiatives
    • Technical certification or associate degree in engineering technology, maintenance, or related field

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to lift low to medium weight (10-30 lbs) materials on an occasional basis.
    • Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to climb ladders and traverse catwalks.
    • Must be able to assume awkward positions in the course of work, including but not limited to reaching overhead, twisting, bending over, and/or working from a lying position.
    • May be required to work in industrial environments with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and moving equipment.

    Bachelor''s or University Degree (Required)
