Job Title: General Labor / Production Associate
Pay Rate: $16.00 – $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (OT and weekends as needed)
Location: Strongsville, OH
Duration: 5-month contract
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable General Labor / Production Associate to support a light manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for assisting in all stages of the fabrication and finishing process, including cutting, shaping, sanding, assembling, coating, and finishing wood products using machinery, tools, and UV equipment.
The ideal candidate will ensure product quality by verifying dimensions, inspecting materials for defects, and supporting overall production goals in a safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties such as cleaning, painting, labeling, and pallet handling
- Support fabrication and finishing processes for wood products
- Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Assist machine operators with setups, changeovers, and adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
- Clean equipment during downtime (non-maintenance responsibilities)
- Complete assigned tasks, including basic preventive maintenance duties
- Follow all safety guidelines and consistently use required PPE
- Cross-train and support production roles as assigned
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily performed inside a manufacturing facility with seasonal temperature variations
- Ability to stand for extended periods (2–3 hours at a time)
- Ability to climb stairs as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in a light manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors
