ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate electrical design handoffs and cross-disciplinary integration between the nuclear island systems team and EPC contractor across mechanical, nuclear, electrical, and I&C disciplines.
- Oversee partners and subcontractors developing electrical systems from functional requirements through final design: single-line diagrams, procurement specs, FMEAs, calculations, and engineering change packages.
- Review deliverables for technical accuracy and impact on design, cost, and schedule; support SAR preparation and NRC correspondence.
- Apply SSC classification, nuclear codes (Class 1E IEEE standards, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1), and licensing requirements to electrical system design.
- Balance competing design objectives on a multi-disciplinary team, maintaining schedule adherence on a new nuclear build project.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of electrical systems engineering experience; B.S. in Engineering required - advanced degree counts toward experience.
- Nuclear electrical systems design experience strongly desired; familiarity with Class 1E IEEE standards (308, 323, 344, 379, 383, 384, 741) and nuclear QA programs (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1).
- Experience overseeing and integrating multiple organizations in engineering design delivery; new build experience preferred; MS Office and design tools (ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical) a plus.
