Picture this: a conveyor hesitates during peak demand. You arrive, isolate energy with LOTO, trace the fault from the VFD to a worn bearing, replace components, align the drive, verify signals, and bring the line back to full speed — safely and confidently. That’s the impact you’ll have as our Plant Maintenance Millwright & Controls Technician.

Mission

Reduce unplanned downtime, strengthen equipment reliability, and partner with operations to keep the plant performing at its best.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance to extend equipment life.
  • Service mechanical systems: bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical/control issues involving motors, sensors, control panels, VFDs, and low- to medium-voltage wiring.
  • Interpret schematics, drawings, and manuals to pinpoint root causes and plan precise repairs.
  • Apply lockout/tagout and follow all safety standards; maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Install, adjust, and align new or rebuilt equipment and control devices.
  • Document work performed, parts consumed, and findings in work orders or maintenance systems.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and improvement ideas with supervisors, operators, and teammates.

Additional Contributions

  • Conduct inspections, lubrication, filter changes, and system checks.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery using appropriate tools.
  • Support facilities maintenance as needed.
  • Participate in training and cross-training to expand your toolkit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in industrial maintenance or a comparable mechanic role.
  • Strong mechanical and baseline electrical troubleshooting capability.
  • Fluency with manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with diverse hand and power tools.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Supervision

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Manufacturing setting with frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and crouching.
  • Extended standing; fine motor skills and hand–eye coordination required.
  • Lift 25 lbs regularly; up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent use of hand and power tools; typical production noise.
  • Occasional heat/cold; close to moving machinery and mechanical parts.
