Shape the uptime that powers our world
Prysmian is the world’s leading manufacturer of wire and cable. Our North American footprint grew in 2024 with the acquisition of McKinney, Texas-based Encore Wire. With nearly 9,000 teammates in North America and 33,000 globally, we produce underground and underwater power cables; medium- and low-voltage construction and infrastructure cables; and a full suite of optical fiber, copper, and connectivity solutions for voice, video, and data. When you join Prysmian, you join a company committed to excellence—and to helping transform the world around us.
What a day looks like
You arrive on shift at our McKinney facility and review the overnight maintenance log. A production line reports increased vibration—within minutes you’re diagnosing bearings and power transmission components, isolating the root cause, and planning a quick repair to keep output on track. During planned downtime, you complete preventive maintenance, update digital records, and coordinate with operations to bring equipment safely back online. An urgent call comes in: a pneumatic circuit is misbehaving. You read the schematic, trace the signal, adjust valves, test, and return the line to spec—all while following Prysmian and OSHA protocols.
