The Maintenance Technician Intern supports the maintenance department by assisting with routine maintenance activities while gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment during summer or winter break periods.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assist maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance tasks including inspections, lubrication, and basic adjustments.
- Support mechanical repairs through component removal, installation, and use of basic hand tools.
- Help stage tools, parts, and materials for maintenance work.
- Assist with equipment cleaning and organization of maintenance areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical skills.
- Strong attention to safety procedures and detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Education and Experience:
- Student currently enrolled in an Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related technical program.
- Must have completed the first year of the program.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems preferred.
- Exposure to manufacturing or technical environments preferred.
