Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician Intern supports the maintenance department by assisting with routine maintenance activities while gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment during summer or winter break periods.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • none

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance tasks including inspections, lubrication, and basic adjustments.
  • Support mechanical repairs through component removal, installation, and use of basic hand tools.
  • Help stage tools, parts, and materials for maintenance work.
  • Assist with equipment cleaning and organization of maintenance areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical skills.
  • Strong attention to safety procedures and detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under direct supervision.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

  • Student currently enrolled in an Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related technical program.
  • Must have completed the first year of the program.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical systems preferred.
  • Exposure to manufacturing or technical environments preferred.
