The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a metal processing and distribution facility, ensuring efficeincy, safety, and quality across all functions. This role directly supervises a team of approximately 15-20 employees and provides leadership across production, equipment operation, and supporting departments.
The ideal candidate brings a stong working knowledge of metal processing operations, including the materials, equipment, and methods used within the facility. This role requires hands-on leadership, the ability to optimize processes, and a focus on driving productivity while maintaining a safe and compliant work enviornment.

Job Function:• Effectively manage all daily operations related to shop and traffic personnel to ensure customer satisfaction
• Hiring, firing, salary administration and performance evaluations for direct and indirect reports
• Directs and coordinates all production and distribution activities for the plant.
• Responsible for ongoing training programs that supports employee growth and advancement.
• Fosters a culture that supports a collaborative and positive work environment between Plant Operations and the Commercial Sales teams.
• Manages staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
• Oversee the functionality and efficiency of the ERP system as it pertains to Plant Operations
• Manage time and attendance system for biweekly payroll
• Schedule shop production
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with Traffic Dept. and Plant Foreman
• Implement and monitor quality control procedures
• Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.
• Monitor safety and OSHA compliances and conduct monthly safety meetings
• Responsible for accuracy of perpetual inventory
• Communicate with Branch Manager on key issues
• Has direct responsibility over warehouse safety, housekeeping and preventative maintenance programs.
• Creates a work environment that ensures the safety and well-being of all plant personnel
• Implements organizational policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with other members of management and staff members.
• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations and re-evaluates them for cost effectiveness.
• Develops and promotes feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Compensation: $110,000-$130,000 annually. This role is also eligible for a monthly performance-based bonus tied to shop performance. Final compensation within the range will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Required Skills:
Desired Minimum Requirements: Computer literate, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), experience in managing personnel and related issues, minimum of 5 years experience with hands-on management of employees in a production/distribution environment, previous steel experience helpful.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate all machinery and tools, using the proper safety methods, in the shop. Knowledge of ERP system. Ability to handle Sales Reps, outside vendors and customers with tact and respect.
Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000.00/Yr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
