Trak group is partnering with a manufacturing client seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all aspects of plant operations, including receiving, warehousing, inventory, fabrication, assembly, shipping, and supply chain. This senior leadership role will focus on operational transformation, Lean Manufacturing, safety, team development, and continuous improvement while ensuring customer expectations for quality and delivery are consistently achieved.
The ideal candidate is a proven manufacturing leader who has successfully managed large operations, developed high-performing teams, and built cultures centered on accountability, safety, operational excellence, and measurable results.
Responsibilities
Lead all plant operations, including receiving, warehouse, inventory, fabrication, assembly, shipping, and supply chain.
Establish and maintain a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements.
Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead operational transformation and performance improvement programs across the facility.
Develop, implement, and standardize SOPs to improve quality, consistency, productivity, and efficiency.
Establish operational KPIs and use performance data to identify opportunities and drive business decisions.
Improve production performance, material flow, inventory management, and vendor performance.
Build, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing leadership and operational teams.
Establish clear expectations and drive accountability throughout the organization.
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Finance, HR, Maintenance, Quality, and IT.
Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
Ensure customer requirements for quality, delivery, service, and responsiveness are consistently achieved.
Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and respect.
Drive sustainable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee performance.
Bachelors degree required.
15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
8+ years in plant-level leadership roles.
Experience managing a large manufacturing operation with 100+ employees.
Demonstrated success leading complex plant operations across multiple functional areas.
Strong experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
Proven experience leading operational transformation and performance improvement initiatives.
Track record of building accountable, performance-driven teams and cultures.
Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and data-driven decision-making.
Experience improving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and team-development skills.
Experience with ERP/MRP, MES, or similar manufacturing systems.
Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented manufacturing environment.
Experience overseeing fabrication and assembly operations.
Background implementing or strengthening Lean and 5S programs.
Experience improving inventory management, material flow, and supply chain performance.
Previous leadership of significant plant transformation or turnaround initiatives.
Lean or Six Sigma certification.
Experience developing SOPs and standardizing manufacturing processes across departments.
