Plant Manager

This role assumes responsibility for the comprehensive performance management of one of our corporation's most pivotal and multifaceted manufacturing hubs. Overseeing dual factories, an offsite warehouse, and a customer service center, you will ensure that these operations produce products that are continuously safe, reliable, and cost-efficient, catering to both our internal needs and external clientele.

The Defiance hub serves as the exclusive manufacturer of marbles, fiberglass pipe insulators, alongside critical original equipment manufacturer and high-performance material product lines, catering to both additional factory locations and external clients. Maintaining operational distinction while steering considerable capital ventures such as furnace renewals, automation practices, and expansion endeavors will be your priority.

Your effectiveness in this position will be measured through exemplary performance in safety enhancement, engagement escalation, throughput enhancement, quality refinement, financial objective attainment, and punctual and budget-respecting capital project management—all while guiding a workforce of over 600 unionized hourly staff and 60 salaried personnel in a prominent, multi-location setting.

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field, paired with over 12 years of accumulated manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 5 years in senior operational management.
- Proficiency in managing dynamic multi-line manufacturing settings with union and salaried personnel.
- Track record of measurable advancements in safety, operational efficiency, and workforce engagement.
- Advanced financial management skills alongside expertise in coordinating substantial capital ventures.
- Profound knowledge of continuous improvement frameworks such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Experience interfacing with environmental and regulatory agencies to uphold compliance.
- Adept in communication and stakeholder management with a capability to influence across organizational levels.
- Ability and readiness to travel periodically within the business focus.
