Position Summary
 
The Plant Manager position must be able to apply knowledge and skills in managing all aspects pertaining to the plant operation.  Including but not limited to administrative, procurement, production, safety and environmental compliance, personnel, maintenance/repair of equipment, the production floor, confirming incoming/outgoing work, workflow, successful completion of job requirements, proper operation of equipment, inside customer sales, etc.
 
Level of Authority
 
This person is responsible for the management of the entire facility and supervision of all employees.  This includes completing reporting mechanisms related to employee work deficiencies.
 
Work Environment
 
Work is primarily indoors and may involve potential exposure to hazards such as chemicals, moisture,
 
heat, electrical, and operational equipment.

Qualifications
  • Ensure all incoming work is accounted for by customer, type or variety, and quantity.
  • Schedule trucks/drivers to pick up/deliver customer orders
  • Schedule trucks/trailers for service, repairs, DOT inspections, etc.
  • Inspect incoming work to determine appropriate processing requirements.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of the job, i.e. cleaning line, pan washer, coating line, and curing.
  • Delegation of responsibilities to the various plant operations so that work requirements are successfully completed within the time frame allotted.
  • Make sure that all cleaning line tanks/solutions and coating line equipment/coatings, i.e. the deglaze, soak, rinse, bleach, citric acid; are properly maintained, chemically balanced, and coatings reconstituted.
  • Provide and use appropriate materials and equipment to complete assigned work according to specifications, verbal instructions, and established procedures.
  • Proficiently operate all assigned equipment to perform any operation within the capacity of the equipment as necessary to accomplish required work including forklift and process equipment.
  • Perform or direct the performance of routine maintenance on process equipment as required and within the scope of knowledge or ability.
  • Report any issues relating to equipment or employees that exceed normal authority to manage.
  • Perform duties and ensure that other employees perform their duties in accordance with safe work practices as established under the guidelines of company policy and safety rules
  • Identify and correct any unsafe or hazardous conditions existing involving plant operations or equipment.
  • Ensure that all employees are adhering to proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines for each job function.
  • Ensure that lock lock/out out tag is adhered to when any equipment is being serviced.
  • Inventory all chemicals on the last day of each month.
  • Submit all monthly reports (ie., chemical inventory, production totals, transportation logs, etc.) by the 5th of the following month.
  • Maintain file with temperature and operating charts for the thermal oxidizer (if required) and curing ovens.
  • General understanding of electrical, plumbing, and hydraulics.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Must be familiar with industrial machinery and how it operates.
  • This is a hands-on job and needs to be willing to help on plant floor as needed. 
  • Needs to be able to read and understand basic spreadsheets such as productivity reports, P&L statements, and other various spreadsheets.
  • Microsoft suite experience.
  • Hours required for this position will vary dramatically. Lots of weekend work and on call as need
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a courteous manner within the applicable scope of knowledge and authority.
  • Identify and secure parts and/or equipment as required to perform process requirements.
  • Must be familiar with and understand the job description and duties of each employee.
  • Must have working familiarity with basic equipment maintenance.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain forklift license.
  • Must have the ability to plan, schedule, and review the work and performance of others in manner conducive to proficient performance and high morale.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license to be able to operate company vehicle.
