Our client is a growing food manufacturer specializing in premium dough-based products for national and regional private label customers. With an expanding customer base, growing SKU portfolio, and plans for future capacity growth, the company is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to lead site operations, strengthen performance, and help scale the business for the next phase of growth.

What You'll Do:

As the Plant Manager, you will serve as the senior operational leader for the facility, responsible for driving safety, quality, production, maintenance, employee engagement, and overall plant performance. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the production floor, developing teams, solving problems, and creating accountability throughout the operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, service, and cost objectives are achieved
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing operations team while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Drive operational excellence through the effective use of KPIs, performance metrics, and root cause problem-solving
  • Monitor labor, yields, downtime, costs, and operational efficiencies to improve overall plant performance
  • Partner with Quality and Maintenance leadership to ensure food safety, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance
  • Lead efforts to improve throughput, reduce waste, optimize processes, and increase operational efficiency
  • Support capital projects, equipment improvements, and future capacity expansion initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, food safety programs, environmental standards, and company policies
  • Serve as a visible, floor-oriented leader who actively engages with employees and supports a positive workplace culture
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive food manufacturing leadership experience
  • 3-5 years of Plant Manager experience with full operational responsibility strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of food safety systems including HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience leading manufacturing operations through KPI management, continuous improvement, and team development
  • Proven ability to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and employee engagement
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, capital projects, and operational performance metrics
  • Knowledge of SQF, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Operational Excellence, or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
  • Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the production floor
