Description

Is this your next hands-on challenge?

Do you enjoy diagnosing tough equipment issues, keeping automated lines running, and working where it’s cool—literally? In our food processing facility, production rooms are maintained around 32°F (and below in certain spots). If you’re energized by fast-paced industrial settings and can keep machinery at peak performance, read on.

What will you take on?

  • Proactively inspect equipment to catch wear, breakage, or defects before they cause downtime.
  • Repair production and processing machinery, including modern automated systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems, apply safe, effective fixes, and verify results.
  • Team up with fellow maintenance technicians and engineering to resolve issues quickly.
  • Dismantle machines, swap in repaired or new parts, and reassemble to spec.
  • Clean and lubricate gears, bearings, shafts, and other components.
  • Support pneumatic, hydraulic, and ammonia systems to maintain smooth operation.
  • Install and service electrical apparatus—transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components.
  • Maintain and repair the physical structure of equipment as needed.
  • Use cutting torches and welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Execute preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned interruptions.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals to guide your work.
  • Work independently with strong self-motivation and accountability.
  • Engage daily with material handling equipment; experience repairing pallet jacks is preferred.

Can you meet the demands?

  • Comfortable working with, in, and around industrial machinery at a fast pace.
  • Able to work for extended periods in refrigerated spaces around 32°F (and lower in some areas).
  • Lift up to 50 pounds without reasonable assistance; frequently push, pull, kneel, bend, twist, squat, and reach with both arms.

Our heritage

Founded in 1939 by Gottlieb Dietz, a skilled German sausage maker, Dietz & Watson has always prioritized taste and quality. By using old-world techniques, fresh lean meats like beef, ham, pork, turkey breast, and chicken breast, and the finest natural spices from around the world, the company built a reputation for excellence. Today, the fourth generation continues to exceed government standards and pursues both perfection and originality, crafting premium deli meats and artisan, hand-churned, small-batch cheeses—still guided by the promise of “quality above all.”

Military experience welcomed.
