About the Role
Were hiring a Plant Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on asphalt plants and asphalt-related equipment. This role supports multiple plant locations and involves travel throughout Northwest Ohio and Southern Michigan, based on operational needs, while allowing you to regularly return home.
This is a full-time, year-round position.
What Youll Do
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on asphalt plants, conveyors, and related equipment
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems
- Operate a plant when required to ensure accurate batching and quality production
- Monitor plant performance and make adjustments to optimize efficiency
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Follow all safety procedures and promote a clean, organized work environment
- Coordinate with supervisors, drivers, and dispatch to minimize downtime
- Perform routine inspections and report potential equipment issues
- Travel to multiple plant locations as required
- Maintain regular in-person attendance
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Ability to safely access and navigate plant facilities, including climbing ladders
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, or up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours as operational needs require
What You Bring
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Welding and burning skills
- Experience operating and maintaining industrial or heavy equipment
- Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely operate a front-end loader
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with asphalt plants, aggregate facilities, or similar industrial equipment highly desirable
