Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a Plant Operations Technician in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of building systems within a healthcare environment. This is a Full-Time 40 hours per week(Monday - Friday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM) opportunity for someone who wants to ensure a safe, compliant, and fully functional facility by supporting plant operations, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting systems, and assisting with regulatory compliance activities.

In this role, you’ll support the Director of Facilities. You’ll manage mechanical and utility systems, preventative and corrective maintenance, and regulatory compliance and safety.

Key Responsibilities
Assists with the operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, steam, and other complex mechanical and electrical building systems.
Performs routine and preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications, regulatory standards, and departmental procedures.
Troubleshoots and maintains core plant systems including, but not limited to, boilers, chillers, steam systems, medical gas and vacuum systems, compressors, pumps, cooling towers, air handling and distribution systems, motors, and basic electrical and control systems.
Monitors equipment performance and operating conditions; accurately documents system status and takes appropriate corrective action or escalates issues to the Director of Facilities as needed.
Repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains plumbing systems, fixtures, and related mechanical or electrical equipment.
Prepares for and coordinates installation and modification of building systems and infrastructure, including minor construction and renovation activities.
Utilizes computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document, track, and complete work orders in a timely and accurate manner.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in plant operations, facilities maintenance, or building engineering, preferably in a healthcare or regulated environment
Valid Driver’s License
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Preferred Qualifications
Trade or Technical School training in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing
Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and building codes
