Here's the Role:

We are seeking an ambitious candidate for our open Plant Operator I position. This entry-level role assists plant operations staff and other personnel by monitoring and isolating equipment, operating switchgear and breakers, and troubleshooting equipment and process initiatives. You will work in a coal-fired power plant environment. This role offers the chance to develop skills through structured assignments and instructor-led training. How You’ll Contribute:
  • Isolate and tag out equipment for maintenance, according to directions and plant operating procedures. 
  • Acquire knowledge of equipment operating parameters to recognize and report abnormal conditions as they occur, according to established procedures. 
  • Complete and submit all logs and reports to immediate supervisor as instructed. 
  • Assist maintenance and instrumentation & controls departments during outages. 
  • Perform unit walk downs (makes rounds) to monitor operating equipment. 
How You’re Qualified:
  • Zero or more years of experience in the inspection, monitoring and maintenance of power plant and/or coal yard equipment, including the isolation and tagging of systems or other relevant experience.
  • Driver's license
How You’ll Stand Out:
  • Ability to adhere to critical operating procedures/guidelines, safety and environmental rules and regulations. 
  • Basic knowledge of LOTO procedures, ability to communicate effectively, dedication to safety and environmental leadership. 
  • Fundamental understanding of power plant operating principles. 
  • Fundamental understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment.
