Plant Operator

Overview: Responsible for the operations of stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as chillers, compressors, generators and steam boilers. That equipment is necessary to provide utilities such as lights, heat, ventilation, medical gases and power for refrigeration, air conditioning and other services to the facility.

Qualifications: Required Education: GED or High School Diploma Necessary Skills: 1. Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. 2. Must have the ability to inspect equipment or systems and to identify conditions requiring correction. 3. Must have a working knowledge of common hand tools, general safety, blueprints, schematic diagrams and able to interpret instructions. 4. Must have a basis working knowledge of electricity and distribution systems. 5. Must have the ability to perform basis mechanical, carpentry and plumbing repairs. Required Experience: 1-2 years - Building maintenance or central plant operations.
