Plant Operator/Supervisor

Position Overview

The Plant Operator / Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the batch plant while providing leadership and oversight of daily plant activities. This role ensures the production of high-quality concrete products, manages plant personnel, inventory, and dispatch functions, and maintains compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot batching equipment to ensure efficient plant operations.
• Supervise daily plant activities and coordinate workflow to meet production and customer service goals.
• Lead and support plant employees, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Produce concrete products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct routine plant inspections and oversee preventive maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Manage raw material inventories and coordinate material deliveries to maintain production requirements.
• Assist with dispatch operations and delivery scheduling to ensure efficient customer service.
• Monitor production efficiency and implement improvements to optimize plant performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, environmental regulations, and quality standards.
• Complete and review daily production reports, inventory records, administrative paperwork, and operational documentation.
• Investigate and address operational issues, equipment concerns, and customer service challenges as needed.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete production, aggregate operations, manufacturing, construction, or a related industry preferred.
• Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience preferred.
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred.
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and plant operating systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to supervise multiple priorities and make sound operational decisions.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, overtime, and travel as business needs require.
• Strong problem-solving, customer service, and team-building abilities.
• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
