Plant Production Operations Leader

About the Role

As the Plant Production Operations Leader, you are the execution engine for the entire facility. You convert plans into flawless performance across every shift and line, protect safety and compliance, and elevate craftsmanship, consistency, and pride—what we call Grandma Quality.

A day in the life

• Early shift: Walk the floor, review plant KPIs and dashboards, verify SOP adherence, and make short-interval schedule adjustments to protect attainment and throughput.
• Mid-morning: Align with Production Managers, confirm labor alignment, and fine-tune sequencing and capacity against real-time constraints (downtime, materials, volume changes).
• Midday: Partner with Planning on updated line capability data (rates, speeds, efficiencies, constraints) to ensure executable plans.
• Afternoon: Lead root cause analysis on performance misses or variability; deploy corrective actions and lock in sustained improvements with Regional Production Operations leadership.
• Evening handoff: Orchestrate cross-shift alignment, resolve escalations, and ensure a smooth changeover to the next crew.

What you will lead

• Facility-wide production execution across all shifts and lines, ensuring operations are safe, compliant, and efficient.
• End-to-end scheduling execution: master schedules, line sequencing, capacity alignment, and short-interval control to deliver plan attainment.
• Real-time translation of demand and production plans into executable schedules and staffing models, adjusting for downtime, labor availability, material constraints, and volume changes.
• Relentless focus on attainment, throughput, efficiency, and optimal labor alignment.
• Coaching and accountability for Production Managers—clear standards for frontline leadership and results.
• Visible leadership on every shift, reinforcing safety, quality, accountability, and respectful leadership.
• Establishment and continuous improvement of production standards, SOP execution, and operating rhythms across lines and shifts.
• Consistent application of standard work, daily best practices, and performance expectations plant-wide.
• Ownership of plant-level production KPIs and dashboards—ensuring visibility, data accuracy, and timely communication.
• Performance monitoring with the Regional Manager, Production Operations to spot trends, close gaps, and sustain improvements.
• Root cause analysis for attainment misses, downtime, inefficiencies, and variability, with rapid corrective action.
• Changeover execution performed safely and efficiently, aligned to established standards and schedules.
• Collaboration with CI/OpEx partners and Production Managers to pilot, standardize, and scale best practices.
• Continuous improvement initiatives aimed at throughput, labor efficiency, downtime reduction, and schedule adherence.
• Cross-shift and cross-line alignment to ensure consistent messaging, expectations, and execution.
• Primary escalation for cross-shift/line or complex execution challenges; rapid resolution and alignment.
• First escalation for significant employee relations, performance, or conduct issues that exceed the Production Manager level, in partnership with People Operations.
• Consistent application of company policies, performance standards, and disciplinary practices across teams.
• Reinforcement of Mama’s values—clear expectations for leadership behavior and swift response to misalignment.
• Promotion of a strong, inclusive, and accountable production culture where people are supported, heard, and held to a high bar.
• Support for change management around new processes, equipment, schedules, products, or organizational changes.
• Identification of leadership gaps, training needs, and succession opportunities within the Production Manager group.
