Career Opportunity – Plant Reliability Engineer, Engineering DepartmentPosition Purpose:The Plant Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving the reliability, performance, and uptime of manufacturing equipment, plant utilities, and facility assets. This position serves as the technical leader for equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis, preventive maintenance systems, equipment standards, and maintenance training.The Plant Reliability Engineer works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility for maintenance personnel but serves as the technical leader for equipment reliability, maintenance systems, and maintenance best practices throughout the facility.Equipment Reliability & Technical SupportProvide advanced troubleshooting support for manufacturing equipment, plant utilities, and facility infrastructure.Lead root cause analysis efforts for equipment failures, recurring downtime events, and chronic reliability issues.Develop and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.Support equipment startups, process improvements, and major maintenance activities.Serve as the primary technical resource for complex maintenance and equipment-related issues.Maintenance Systems & Continuous ImprovementOwn and continuously improve the preventive maintenance (PM) program.Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and equipment standards.Analyze downtime, maintenance, and equipment performance data to identify improvement opportunities.Recommend and implement reliability improvements that reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and lower maintenance costs.Support spare parts management and critical asset planning.Team Development & TrainingProvide technical coaching and training to Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Lead personnel.Assist in developing technical skills related to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.Promote safe work practices and standardized maintenance methods throughout the organization.Support the reliability and maintenance of plant utility systems, including compressed air, chillers, cooling systems, electrical distribution, and facility infrastructure.Assist with utility capacity planning, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects.Requirements:Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.Minimum of five (3) years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, reliability engineering, equipment engineering, or a related technical role.Technical SkillsStrong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment.Experience with PLCs, industrial controls, drives, sensors, and automation systems.Experience with preventive maintenance systems ERP software.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting robotics and automated manufacturing systems.Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies.Status:Salary Non-Exempt.
