About Chemtrade

We’re driven by safety, sustainability, and environmental stewardship—and powered by a diverse team that we value and respect. At Chemtrade, people are at the center of everything we do.

A Day in the Life

You’ll start your day aligning with Operations to confirm priorities and slot urgent work into the plan. With your crew gathered, you’ll sequence jobs in the CMMS, verify permits, and mobilize resources. As work progresses, you’ll be out in the Richmond, CA sulfuric acid and regeneration facility—troubleshooting pumps, motors, valves, turbines, piping, and heat exchangers—while coaching craft personnel and contractors on safe work practices and quality standards.

Throughout the week, you’ll drive preventive maintenance completion, lead root-cause problem solving, and steward inventory for mechanical, instrumentation, welding, rotating equipment, pipe-valve-fittings, filters, bearings, and hoses. You’ll oversee outage prep, budget adherence, and performance metrics, and you’ll guide incident investigations, close corrective actions, and champion Responsible Care across the site. Just as critical, you’ll mentor technicians, shape training plans, and build a high-performing, reliability-focused culture.

What You’ll Tackle

  • Plan and supervise daily maintenance activities and coordinate emergent work.
  • Deploy the CMMS/work order system to assign work, track progress, and ensure PM compliance.
  • Lead troubleshooting on process and equipment issues; facilitate group problem-solving sessions.
  • Manage parts and spares across disciplines, ensuring availability for critical equipment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety policies; develop and communicate JSAs; support EHS investigations and corrective actions.
  • Oversee budgeting, scheduling, outage readiness, KPIs, and post-event critiques.
  • Direct contractors and internal maintenance crews for capital project execution.
  • Maintain working knowledge of company policies, procedures, permits, and regulatory standards.
  • Own maintenance training and competency development for the team.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma.
  • 5+ years in industrial maintenance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of equipment common to chemical, refinery, power, or pulp & paper plants (pumps, motors, piping, valves, turbines, heat exchangers).
  • 3+ years leading hourly craft employees.
  • Proven safety program experience in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with a CMMS.
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel); SAP familiarity (purchasing and plant maintenance modules) is a plus.

Medical Requirement

To safeguard our team and community, employees must successfully complete annual medical evaluations, which include a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and confirmation of respirator-wear capability as a condition of employment.
