    Description

    Your day at a glance

Start your morning on the day shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm. You’ll walk the plant, check trends on the compressed air and chiller systems, and listen for anything out of tune in the HVAC and exhaust lines. A dock door may need an adjustment, a rooftop unit a filter swap, or a pump a seal check. You’ll close out preventive maintenance in the CMMS, jump on a utility alarm to protect production uptime, and coordinate a contractor for a specialized repair. By afternoon, you’re updating inspection logs, supporting a root-cause review, and lining up tomorrow’s PMs.

    What you’ll own

    • Keep critical utilities running: service and repair compressors, dryers, receivers, distribution piping, industrial chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and process water systems.
    • Maintain HVAC assets: rooftop units, air handlers, exhaust and environmental controls that safeguard product quality and team comfort.
    • Care for facility systems: lighting, basic electrical distribution (within scope), plumbing, walls, floors, ceilings, and dock equipment (doors, levelers, seals).
    • Respond rapidly to utility interruptions to minimize downtime and protect on-time production.
    • Execute and improve preventive programs; document work orders, inspections, and asset history within the CMMS.

    How you’ll succeed

    • Apply strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting to pumps, motors, valves, and controls; read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to pinpoint issues fast.
    • Monitor system performance and pursue energy and reliability improvements.
    • Support capital projects and facility upgrades; partner with vendors/contractors for specialized work.
    • Champion safety: follow LOTO and confined space procedures; uphold OSHA, FDA, SQF, and environmental requirements; maintain mechanical integrity and process safety standards.
    • Contribute to audits and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

    Schedule, environment, and physical demands

    • Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm; occasional overtime, weekend, or on-call support as needed.
    • Manufacturing plant setting with moving machinery, heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and enter confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs; work in varying temperatures and noise levels.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, HVAC, or related discipline preferred.
    • 3–7 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing; plastics, injection molding, or blow molding experience preferred.
    • Hands-on experience with compressed air, chillers, and HVAC systems required; CMMS experience preferred.
    • Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, teamwork, and communication; self-starter with high attention to detail.
