Position Description:

  • This PVT (Plant Vehicle Team) Engineer position is located at the Client Kansas City Assembly Plant (KCAP) where the F150 and Transit vehicle lines are built.
  • PVT Engineers are the 'first line of defense' regarding functional system quality for the products build at the assembly plant. As a PVT engineer, you will handle ongoing product development and improve the quality of the F150/Transit as related to the electrical systems of these vehicles (i.e., electrical distribution, electronic switches, 12V battery, module software and hardware, and sensors).

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver vehicle line quality objectives
  • Manage warranty issue tracking and resolution Identify opportunities for high impact warranty improvement actions
  • Evaluate external issues and drive changes in internal measurement system and/or containment actions
  • Lead/support and coordinate issue containment/resolution of internal/external issues with Product Development, Supplier and Production teams
  • Lead/support launch events (part sign-off, issue resolution, electrical testing)
  • Lead production trials Assist in troubleshooting/repair of units

Requirements:
  • Critical Thinking - Example: have proven experience to weigh diverse and/or competing goals to achieve the best outcome for the company and the product.
  • Problem Solving - Example: familiarity and experience using 6-sigma tools, 8Ds, 5-whys, or other problem solving techniques to identify root cause, implement containment actions, and prevent reoccurrence actions quickly and accurately

Preferred:
  • 3+ years of experience as Product/Quality Engineer in Electrical / Software Environment
  • Automotive Industry related experience
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • 6 Sigma training is preferred
  • Experience working in GSAR/JIRA/IRIS/SIMPSN/QED/SREA and WERS
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work well with people, specifically in assembly plant environment
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with vehicle OBD systems and CAN networking in-vehicle

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field 2+ years' experience as Product/Quality Engineer in Electrical / Software Environment
  • Master of Science Degree in Electrical/Software Engineering or closely related field Preferred
