Sets up and operates a plasma cutting burntable to cut heavy gage metal, including loading large steel plates, downloading programs, and selecting cutting parameters.
Operates the machine by monitoring and adjusting torch heat, pre-heat times, and pierce rates. Unloads parts using cranes or magnets and performs cleaning and scrap cutting.
Conducts first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring tools per blueprints and completes inspection forms. Performs basic maintenance such as checking coolant levels and changing oxyfuel tips, and logs maintenance activities.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1-2 years of related experience or CNC operation training, and basic math and reading skills. Physical demands involve lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods. The work environment is loud, and this is a full-time, non-management position.
